Best bookmakers in Peru

Peru licensed online betting in 2024, ending years of a tolerated grey market: operators now register with MINCETUR, pay a tax on their income and collect a small tax on every bet, and the unlicensed sites are being blocked. Betsson, the largest international brand in the country, and two Peruvian bookmakers with betting shops in every city lead the licensed market. Here are the three that scored best in our tests with a Peruvian account.

How betting works in Peru

Law 31557 and its 2024 regulations created the licence: operators apply to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, MINCETUR, host their platform to Peruvian standards and appear on the ministry’s register. The first licences went to the brands that had built the grey market, Apuesta Total and Te Apuesto with their retail networks, Betsson, Doradobet and others, and the authorities have begun ordering blocks on sites that did not apply. Registration on a licensed site requires the DNI, the national identity number, and an account in soles.

The law added a tax of about one percent on each online bet, collected by the operator and shown on the slip, beside the operator’s own tax on net income; winnings themselves are not taxed separately. Verification comes at the first withdrawal on most sites and is quick, a day in our tests.

Payments are Yape and Plin, the mobile wallets most Peruvians use, PagoEfectivo cash vouchers, bank transfers and cards. Yape withdrawals arrived within hours in our tests.

The three, in short

Betsson

Betsson’s Peruvian site holds a MINCETUR licence and sponsors half the local football league; the product is the group’s standard, with streaming, a bet builder and Yape withdrawals within hours in our test.

Apuesta Total

The largest Peruvian brand, with hundreds of betting shops that double as cash deposit points, a football-first menu priced for the local league and quick Yape withdrawals. The site is plain; the network is the strength.

Te Apuesto

The other Peruvian retail bookmaker, licensed under the new rules, with shops across the country, cash in and out, and prices similar to Apuesta Total; withdrawals by bank within a day in our test.

Other tested operators licensed in Peru

Betsson is the only operator in our ranking on the Peruvian register; the international platforms accept Peruvians without a licence and are being blocked.
