Turkey reserves sports betting to the state monopoly, iddaa, run by Spor Toto and sold online by licensed dealers: Nesine, Bilyoner, Misli and a few others. Foreign sites are blocked, their payments are chased and betting with them is an offence for the player, with fines regularly imposed. And yet the international platforms count Turkey among their largest markets. Here are the three legal dealers, and the honest position on the rest.
Spor Toto sets the iddaa programme, the odds and the rules; the online dealers sell it, with fixed-odds football, basketball and tennis, live betting since 2019 and a product that has improved with private management. Winnings from iddaa are paid in full and are not taxed in the player’s hands. Registration requires the national identity number and a Turkish bank account.
The prices, set by the monopoly, are wider than the international market, which is the reason millions of Turks use 1xBet, Betwinner and their siblings through mirror domains that change weekly. The telecoms regulator blocks thousands of domains a year, the payment regulator pursues transactions to gambling sites, and the law provides administrative fines for players caught betting with foreign operators. None of the international platforms holds any Turkish authorisation and none offers recourse. We list them below because leaving them out would misdescribe the market, not because we recommend them.
Payments on the legal dealers are cards and bank transfers; on the foreign sites, the Papara wallet, bank transfers through intermediaries and crypto, each of which carries its own risk.
Ranked by our test score. All three sell the Spor Toto programme under licence; prices are set by the monopoly.
