Italy licenses operators through concessions, forces every bet through a national control system and blocks everything else. It is one of the tightest regimes in Europe: safe to bet in, poor for bonuses, and strictly for residents.

Nothing is offered in Italy without a concession, and a concession costs millions, so the licensed operators are a closed and well-financed group. Every bet is transmitted to the state system before it is accepted, which is why Italian sites confirm a betslip a fraction slower than foreign ones; every account is tied to a tax code, which is why registration cannot be faked. Unlicensed sites are blacklisted and blocked by every Italian provider, with the list updated weekly.
Winnings are paid in full: the tax is charged to the operator, on its margin, not to the player. Verification is upfront and thorough, with a document required before the first withdrawal. The price is a thin promotional landscape: welcome offers exist but cannot be advertised, and the largest international brands run smaller Italian menus than their global sites. Limits on winning accounts are as common as anywhere else.
The .it domain and the concession number in the footer, checked on the ADM list of licensed operators. Any site that asks for your tax code at registration is running on the Italian system; any site that does not is not licensed in Italy.
Only Italian residents can play, product ranges are narrower than abroad, and ADM is a tax agency before it is a consumer regulator: complaint handling is slow and formal.
Six of the twenty-two hold a concession and run a separate .it site; our Italy page ranks them beside the Italian brands.
Not in the player’s hands; licensed operators pay the tax on their margin.
The site would break its own terms and freeze the account at withdrawal; the ADM system does not recognise the account at all.
The national self-exclusion register: one request excludes you from every licensed site in Italy for the period you choose.
